New Release: When Dell Met Angel

New Release: When Dell Met Angel

And it only took me one millennium!

I must say, this one’s a little bittersweet because it was most certainly a labor of love.

Honestly, this was probably one of the hardest books to write, mostly because of its length. It’s a whopping 500+ pages which I didn’t realize until I uploaded it onto KDP.

This is my first full-length novel (I didn’t necessarily intend for it to be) and it was not an easy feat. I’m sure you’re thinking, well of course it’s not, who said writing a novel was ever easy? But bear in mind I’ve been at this for two years and almost all my previous books have been relatively ‘easy’ to write. They’ve also been a lot shorter so I underestimated the amount of energy and time it would take to get it done. But I did it!

This story is the full version of the 1st story in my short stories collection, Irreconcilable: Full Disclosure which was well received:

I got many requests for the full story and the people pleaser in me was screaming:

Synopsis: WHEN DELL MET ANGEL

When Dell met Angel almost 10 years ago while selling out her products at a Wellness & Beauty Expo, it was all business.

When Angel left to venture out on her own and blaze her own path in the world, things got really personal.

When they crossed paths three years later at a business conference, tensions were high and things got hot.

It’s been three months since they kissed and worked out their differences between the sheets after their public fallout.

Angel is open and ready to take their relationship to the next level, but Dell has some reservations. After all, Angel did almost ruin everything she worked for. Not everyone thinks their reunion is a good idea and for Dell, loving Angel is a riskier bet than business.

What will it take to move past the hurt? A world of trust? A mountain of forgiveness? A thousand ass kisses?

Maybe love heals all wounds.

Maybe they’re just fooling themselves into another world of hurt.

This one covers a couple of tropes:

  • Billionaire status
  • age-gap,
  • enemies to lovers
  • and perhaps a sprinkle of commitment phobia, but that makes sense ultimately.

I love these characters and I hope you will too.

The thing is, the story kept growing on me and it’s due in part to the fact that the story’s told from the POV of both MCs, is also told in present tense and delves deep into both of their backstories.

I also took a gamble on writing some of this story in present tense. It’s a little weird for some people but it doesn’t stay there. I think it adds to the intimate vibe I was going for and that’s what I hope comes across.

I love how it turned out and I hope you do too. I’ve lost literal sleep trying to get it done. I have a love/hate relationship with that presell feature though. On the one hand I like that it holds me accountable. Without it, I’d probably take far longer than I should to get these books done. I may never finish them to be honest. I’m not trying to write the next Great Gatsby, just trying to put out entertaining stories about interesting characters I’d like to read about. But even then, putting together a simple story together is still a battle because life likes to get in the way, and Netflix, Apple TV, HBO, Paramount and Hulu, but I digress.

It requires a Herculean level of discipline and no matter what I do, somehow I work myself right up to the deadline. Every. Single. Time.

I thought I was done over a month ago but as I worked on the edits my characters said, Nope! You need to tell the whole story!!!

That meant a lot more details. A lot. I swear, the characters in my head are as real as anyone and they actually tell me what to do. I could create an outline and as I write, they take the story in a whole different direction. They’ll speak to me in my dreams, when I’m in the shower or putting the dishes away.

This is a love story, not a “romance” and if you’ve read any of my stories, you’ll know that HEAs aren’t guaranteed. You’ll have to read this one to see how it ends, but I mention it only to say that I love, love, and I love writing about women falling in or out of it. I’ll keep writing and will keep working on my craft.

For those who bought the book on presell, sorry for the rush. It has been updated. You can download the updated version here:

I started reading yesterday and just finished. It was awesome. But I feel like Lonn and contractually, you owe us two more books about D&A. 😜 You mentioned the details and that’s one of the things I enjoyed about this offering. I feel like I could see Angel on the street and know it was her. Or knowing how Dell’s lips looked in various scenes because of your previous descriptions. This really was worth the wait.
