In the Works…

I’ve been busy. Wrote a whole story, a continuation of Nola’s story from my Christmas novella, The Bluest Christmas, titled When Nola Smiles. I intended for it to be a short story, but I don’t always get a say on how the story fleshes out. Lol! It turned out to be far darker than I expected it would be, but we’re talking about emotional and physical abuse. How could it not be? Either way, I wanted to make sure it wasn’t a complete downer. Their love for each other was my focus and I hope that comes through. You can read it here for free.

I’m also in the process of cinching up a collection of short stories and novelettes titled Irreconcilable (on pre-sale now). I start a lot of stories I don’t finish for one reason or another and realized that not every story needs to be fleshed out into a full novel or even novella. Some stories can be told in a short format. I took some of those stories and smashed them together and found the theme that ran through them. I titled it Irreconcilable because they’re all struggling with internal conflicts as it pertains to their desires in love and relationships. I did make the choice to make them a bit more salacious because I honestly love writing about sexy time and I think they give a big punch to shorter stories like these.

As far as upcoming works down the line, I’m currently working on another Christmas story for Holiday 2021, A Divine Christmas, told from DeeDee’s point of view from the (At the Deep End series). I may also be trying out the new Vella platform. I’ve been wanting to write a Dark Romance series I started a while back and I think I’d like to start Part 1 there.

I’ve also been working on a bit of rebranding. When I first started I just sort of haphazardly threw my book covers and formatting together just to get things out. Now that I have a couple of books under me, I sort of want to take up the experience a bit. I know the importance of such things, but doing is a whole other beast.

I’ve updated my covers for the At The Deep End series, moving away from the cutesy cartoon vibe and using a model. I’m loving the look, but ultimately its about the reader. Not sure if it will resonate more or not. We shall see.

My website is also a work in progress. I’ve updated the home page and have been slowly working my way through. I aim to really build that out as a destination site for all things lady love. Eventually, I’ll move my books to its own domain, and fill this one with free stories and reviews of my favorite authors and LGBTQ+ works.

In 2022, I’ll be releasing my first true romance. I’ve made it challenge for myself. I never saw myself as a romance writer. I just liked to tell a good story, but in the lgbtq+ genre, there seems to be a need and desire for it. I pay attention to my reviews specifically because they tell me what resonates and I write not only for myself, but also to give my readers an experience whether it helps them escape, give them clarity or simply affects them in a positive way. V-Day was my first attempt and the response was pretty positive. I want to do more of that. My characters can still be flawed and broken, and the story can still be soft, wistful and dreamy.

All right. That’s all I got for you for now. Get Irreconciable on presale now!
